Genealogy of the family of Georg Wurth (1868--1904) and Anna Thron

Our family line--Georg Wurth and Anna Thron-- is shown below in red.

The earliest relative in our family seems to be Georg Wurth.  Here's what the document says about him.

Georg Wurth, who married in York in 1758 seems to have lost his mother while still a child, as he could not give information about her name on his marriage license.  His father had already died at that time.  Dundenheim belongs to the parish Johenheim, where church records are kept since 1757.  The banns for the Wurth marriage took place in Keppenheim.  Being an orphan, he probably was working as a farmhand there.  However, he must have had money, otherwise he could not have purchased the large property in Kork, which was in the center of the village.  His death notice at Kork sounded like this:

Early in the morning, at 1:00 AM on Nov. 25, 1795, Georg Wurth, native citizen, fell from the staircase which led from the dancehall of the local tavern, the Eagle, where he had enjoyed dancing.  He fell so badly that he was dead at once.  He was 64 years, 2 months and 20 days old.  His father was Georg Wurth, citizen of Dundenheim;  his mother's name is unknown.

Based on the above story, we would say Georg Wurth was born on September 5, 1731, probably in Dundenheim, where his father was a citizen.  Georg married Elisabetha Köbel, 1758 in Kork,  and he died Nov 25, 1795.  Because the banns took place in Keppenheim, it is probable that Elisabetha Köbel was from there.
